From March 13-17, Renaissance Academy proudly showcased the talent of its students at the prestigious Organization of American Kodály Educators (OAKE) National Conference Choirs in Chicago. Representing Renaissance Academy with musical prowess were; Maribelle Buli (12th grade), Padraic Carr (12th grade), Sage O’Brien (9th grade), and Molly Myers (8th grade), accompanied by their dedicated choral teacher, Beth O’Leary, and choir committee chair, Eileen Keller.
The event brought together over 500 students from 190 cities across 35 U.S. states, along with one international school, to form the vibrant mosaic of the OAKE National Conference Choirs. Amidst this gathering, Renaissance Academy students stood out, lending their voices to the rich tapestry of musical excellence.
Under the guidance of esteemed conductors Judith Chan, Sandy Knudson, Tracy Wong, and Árpád Tóth, The students immersed themselves in a week-long journey of musical exploration and camaraderie. From intensive rehearsals to memorable performances, they dedicated themselves wholeheartedly, forging lasting memories along the way.
The highlight of their experience was a breathtaking concert held on Saturday, March 16, at the renowned Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Against the backdrop of this illustrious venue, our students took center stage, captivating the audience with their talent and passion.
